Brew Moore
Description:
The first release of a recording from 1961 with Brew Moore, Denmark's premature tenor saxophone prodigy, Brew Moore Neils Pedersen, and Alex Riehl, Brew Moore was a gifted tenor saxophonist who died prematurely in 1973. This is an important addition to Moore's discography, as it is the first release of a concert for Danish Radio in October 1961 and a television recording in Malmö, Sweden in November 1961. Moore performed with one of Denmark's leading rhythm forces, bassist Niels-Henning Olsted Pedersen, who won a Grammy Award (Best Jazz Performance) as part of the Oscar Peterson Trio, and drummer Alex Lille. Music should be an expression of one's own world and way of life. When all else becomes tedious, music is for forgetfulness, for memory, and for reminding us that there is more good than bad in most things.Moore in an interview with music critic Ralph J. Gleason, 1956.
