'96 Points - Erin Larkin - Wine Companion

63/29.5/7.5% cabernet sauvignon/malbec/petit verdot. Matured in French oak for 18 months (40% new). This is a sensational wine, as was the previous vintage. Seen through the lens of the marvellous 2020 season, this is succulent, flavoursome, supple and downright delicious. The acidity is slightly tart (on my page refreshing, but we are all different) but it punches through the walls of fruit and gives handholds for the next part of the climb. The tannins are fine and chewy, and the oak – where is it? Imperceptible. Awesome.
