Description:

Austrian violinist Benjamin Schmidt. This time he took up the challenge of performing Bartók's two concertos. The best known is No. 2, composed in 1938 and full of Hungarian folk elements, which was considered to be Bartók's only violin concerto. The work was dedicated to Gayel in 1956, but was never performed. The piece has been performed more and more recently. Schmidt clearly depicts the differences in expression between the two works and plays the entire piece with a beautiful tone. Naxos Japan
