Kraftwerk started in the late 1960s with two musicians, Ralph Hütter and Florian Schneider, and their cutting-edge sound in the Krautrock (German Rock) scene gained attention when their album "Autobahn" was released in 1974. Kraftwerk's 1974 album "Autobahn" was a huge hit, reaching No. 5 on the U.S. album chart, and the band's pioneering work in techno-pop has had a profound influence on other bands in the same vein, and they are still active at the forefront of techno-pop. This is a very rare and valuable live archive of Kraftwerk before they transformed into a techno sound with a lot of electrics! After the release of their first two albums, Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider left the band and released "Ralf & Florian" in November 1973. To promote the album, the band played a live studio show in Frankfurt on January 25, 1974 for a radio program to promote the album, which was broadcast on WDR. This live album is a complete recording of the studio show.In this studio live performance, the two members will perform with two new members, focusing on the electronics & acoustic instruments that they both utilize. The complete performance includes a medley of songs from the band's first and second albums, as well as songs from the band's just-released album and the single that would define Kraftwerk's musical direction in the years to come. This live archive is a great way to learn about the origins of the band!
