Paul Meyer, Munich Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra
Description:
This is a collection of Carl Stamitz's clarinet concertos soloed by Paul Maye. In the first collection (555053), which was highly acclaimed by overseas music magazines, a separate conductor was appointed, but in this collection, Meyer himself conducts as well. With a more flexible interpretation, Maye and the orchestra play the music of Stamitz, a representative of the Mannheim School, which was at its peak in the 18th century. The three concertos on this album are No. 1, No. 6, and No. 8, with No. 1 being the most popular of Stamitz's works. As in the previous recording, this recording uses the comparative revision by researcher Friedrich Karl Kaiser. Naxos Japan
