The Vandals, a punk rock band formed in 1980 in Huntington Beach, California, USA, released their 1998 breakthrough album on a 25th anniversary LP (140g Translucent Blue w/Heavy White Splatter) LP version. Featuring the single "My Girlfriend's Dead," fan favorites "Idea for a Movie" and "People That Are Going To Hell," and a cover of "So Long, Farewell," this was their most commercially successful album to date. In 1995, the band joined the newly formed Nitro Records (founded by Dexter Holland and Greg K. of The Offspring), and before their independent debut, they released their first album with labelmates such as AFI, Guttermouth, T.S.O.L, and of course The Offspring, and became solid companions, rubbing shoulders with labelmates such asIn the mid-90s, bands like The Vandals were gaining traction thanks to the mainstream emergence of artists from the California punk scene such as Green Day, Sublime, and Rancid. After the release of Live Fast, Diarrhea, The Vandals toured extensively in North America and Europe, opening for fellow Orange County natives No Doubt, and became a force to be reckoned with.
