These rear tub mud shields are to stop all the mud and road salt from getting around the fuel filler neck & fuel tank (pre Td5) and protect the rear outriggers on all newer Defender 90s. Road salt and mud settles on top of the outrigger causing them to rot away, even galvanized chassis do suffer after a while. These mud shields make cleaning your Land Rover easier as the mud can't get onto the outrigger or around the rear tub, they also cut down the road noise, especially in wet conditions.

They are made from a rigid but still flexible 3mm plastic material in black, the top mounting bracket is made from 2mm galvanized steel and a new heavy duty lower tub side stay (equivalent to MUC9220) is supplied to attach the mud shields, the mud shield can also be removed quite easily if you need to work in that area, they come with all bolts and fixings required to fit them.
