Description:
Euon de Bordeaux is a character in a 13th century French epic poem. It is said that he met the fairy king Oberon who gave him a "magic flute" and a "magic cup" while he was on the run after committing a crime. Based on this legend, "Oberon" here adds the contents of Shakespeare's two masterpieces, "A Summer Night's Dream" and "The Tempest. However, perhaps because the contents are so intermingled, there are not many opportunities to perform it. For this performance, Hofstetter replaced the wind section of the Gießen Philharmonic, a modern orchestra, with period instruments such as natural horns and natural trumpets, in an attempt to bring the work closer to the sound of the 19th century, and succeeded in revealing the true nature of the work. The singers are all excellent. The singers are all very talented. Egorov's unique voice adds an exciting flavor to the story. Naxos Japan
