Muller, August Eberhard (1767-1817)
Description:
Born in Nordheim, Germany, to an organist father, Müller began performing publicly on the organ at the age of eight, and was trained by many of his contemporaries, serving as organist in Magdeburg, Leipzig, and elsewhere. As a performer, he specialized in the works of J.S. Bach, but his works are neat and beautiful in the style of the German classical school. He left behind 11 flute concertos, which are written with skillful brushwork reminiscent of Mozart and Haydn. The seventh concerto, in particular, features timpani and trumpet, and has a wide variety of sounds. Roulandt, who continues to play the flute as in the first album, is a virtuoso who has been called the "Paganini of Flute" and won the "Opus Classic 2018" award. He is known for his extended tone.
