A hybrid SACD and MQA-CD release by Eudora, a Spanish high quality sound label. This concerto album focuses on Venice. The album features works by Vivaldi, the composer most closely associated with Venice, including the world premiere recording of his Overture by Veracini, which is thought to have been composed there in 1716, when the Elector of Saxony visited Venice, and the Overture by Benedetto Marcello, a Venetian nobleman and composer ( brother of Alessandro Marcello), and a violin concerto by Benedetto Marcello, a Venetian nobleman and composer. Manuscripts of these two works are in the library of the Venice Conservatory (also known as the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory). Vadim Makarenko, a native of Ukraine, and his ensemble, Infelmi d'Amore, whose work focuses on the interpretation of 17th- and 18th-century Venetian and Neapolitan music, use this recording to explore the "lost" works that were either left unfinished or brought to Venice by accident. With this recording, Infelmi d'Amore wants to pay homage to the vague, ephemeral, elusive expressiveness and the "joy of discovery" of Baroque music through the "lost" works left unfinished or accidentally brought to Venice.
