A 1920’s style Driver Bust with Wings Car Mascot/Hood Ornament. This mascot is a racing driver bust with Art Deco wings. It is modeled after the original designed by world renowned artist, Geo Ham. He based this character on the first professional racing driver of Bugatti cars - Robert Benoit. It was produced and sculpted by M Bertin, one of the foremost mascot designers in France in the 1920's. It is signed on the neck. It is illustrated in Michel Legrand photo book “Mascottes Fantaisies de 1910-1953”, page 333, number 185. It is made of bronze with silver plating and measures approximately 2 ¾ inches high and 5 inches long. It is a reproduction. This is an individual piece there may be small differences between the pictures and the physical piece. This adds to the exclusivity of this ornament.
