The Serax Table Lamp in Black Fou by Alex Gabriëls follows a similar architectural line to others in the collection, though the darker finish gives it a slightly more grounded feel. As a table lamp, it’s restrained in shape, letting the material and light do most of the work without overcomplicating things.

Made from chamotte clay, the surface has a dry, textured quality that becomes more apparent once the lamp is on. The light doesn’t push outward too strongly. Instead, it filters through in a softer way, catching the edges and casting a gentle side glow that brings out the texture in the clay. It’s a quieter effect, but it holds your attention.

It works well in spaces where you don’t want harsh light, bedside tables or corners that need something more ambient. There’s nothing showy about it, which is part of the appeal.
