Heidi Barrett is well-known as the winemaker for Screaming Eagle, but Paradigm is her secret sleeper from Oakville in Napa Valley. The brilliant 2019 Paradigm Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is gorgeous now, but the patient may see it rival the wonderful 1999 Paradigm as this winery's best Cab ever.

98 Points Decanter: " The 2019 Paradigm is a lovely wine showcasing dark-berried fruit layered with a host of elegant spices. Its medium- to full-bodied palate is profoundly flavourful and complex. The perfumed elegance of violets and rose petals is perfectly balanced by the wine's inky dark fruit character, all supported by intricate, fine-grained, and super firm tannins. The finish is long, mineral-driven, and defined by freshness, balance, and energy. I find myself shaking my head over the lack of critical praise for these wines over the years and applaud the consumers who have locked into a spot on the mailing list at Paradigm because they are world-class wines from pedigreed vines, ageworthy, and offer just about the best QPR (quality-to-price ratio) in Napa these days.
