The Minox tabletop tripod is a good tripod for people who don't like tripods, because even if you never use it, it's fun and cool to own. How can a tripod you never use be "fun and cool" to own? Glad you asked. Folded down, this tripod is a shiny metal tube about 1cm across and 20cm long. But when you unscrew the bottom segment, out comes a leg; unscrew the bottom segment of that leg, and another leg comes out. Both of these legs screw into the ball portion of the tripod, and along with the original tube, you've got your tripod. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! Remember that last leg? Unscrew the bottom of THAT and you'll find a hidden cable release. You lock and unlock the ball by rotating the largest leg. This tripod is basically a tripod-shaped puzzle box, and it will make you feel like a magician when you use it. Designed for very small cameras, as you might expect- think point & shoot- but the attachment point is a standard 1/4" thread, so you can always push your luck with something bigger. Light cosmetic wear, good function.
