Castrol Alpha™ SP 150 P (previously called Energol™ GR-XP 150 Plus) is based upon highly refined mineral oil, enhanced with extreme pressure additive technology.

This provides good thermal stability, high load carrying capacity and resistance to microscopic wear, known as micro pitting protection. The high load carrying capacity has been boosted over conventional gear oils of this type for specific applications.

Castrol Alpha SP150 is a high-performance industrial gear oil designed to provide excellent protection for gears and bearings under heavy loads and high-stress conditions. It helps reduce wear, friction, and corrosion, ensuring smooth operation and longer equipment life.

Application
 
Alpha SP 150 P is recommended for the lubrication of industrial gear boxes using forced circulation or splash and oil bath lubrication. It may be used for the lubrication of spur and helical gears and in some lightly loaded worm type gear applications. The increased load carrying capacity, highlighted by the high Brugger value makes Alpha SP 150 P particularly suitable for Müller Weingarten equipment.
