Hager Single Module Type 2 Surge Protection Device | VMES02SPD

The Hager VMES02SPD Single Module Type 2 Surge Protection Device is a compact, high-performance surge protection kit developed specifically for Hager consumer units, helping installers achieve compliance with the 18th Edition BS 7671.

This IEC Type 2 (Class II) SPD is designed for single-phase power supply networks and is suitable for CT2 connection in accordance with BS 7671:2018 Regulation 534.4.3.2. It offers reliable protection against transient overvoltages caused by lightning strikes and switching surges, helping to safeguard sensitive electrical equipment.

The VMES02SPD features an optical status indicator for easy visual inspection, with green indicating healthy operation and red signalling cartridge replacement required. The pluggable surge protection module allows the cartridge to be replaced quickly and safely without interrupting supply to connected loads, ensuring minimal downtime.

Compatible with common UK earthing arrangements including TN-C-S (PME), TN-S, and TT systems, this SPD does not require secondary back-up protection, simplifying installation. Line connection is made via the consumer unit busbar, with neutral and earth connections provided via supplied 6mm cable links.
