• Taurine, a sulfonic acid, is synthesized in the liver from methionine and cystine. As a neuromodulator, taurine effectively regulates nervous system activity, preventing brain over-activity and maintaining cell membrane stability.
• Magnesium is an essential mineral in the horse that acts to stabilize the fright-flight reflex. It works on the cellular level to help store glucose and minimize rapid changes in blood sugar that causes excitability. Magnesium in high levels is also effective at slowing heart rate and relaxing muscles. Different forms of magnesium are absorbed in different parts of the digestive system. In  Perfect Prep EQ, the appropriate magnesium compound is used to produce optimum effect and quickly correct the imbalances in the calcium-magnesium ratio.
• Inositol, or vitamin B8, is required for proper formation of cell membranes. In Perfect Prep EQ formulas, it is an effective stabilizing element in the transmission of nerve impulses. Inositol provides an overall calming effect on the nervous system.
• Thiamine, or vitamin B1, is an essential B vitamin key in the digestion of polysaccharides. Large doses of thiamine are known to provide a high level of calming effect on the horse. • Glycine is a proteinogenic amino acid shown in studies to produce a calming effect on the brain. Glycine also has a positive impact on attention and memory in humans. Glycine is composed of amino and hydroxyl ions which have an antacid effect and help to buffer the stomach.
• Riboflavin, or vitamin B2, is part of the B vitamin family that has been extensively researched and used in both humans and animals to create a sense of calm and wellbeing.
• Pyridoxine, or vitamin B6, serves as a cofactor in many enzyme reactions mainly in amino acid metabolism, including biosynthesis of neurotransmitters.
• DGL extract relieves discomfort and inflammation related to gastric ulcers.

Suggested Use:

• Loading: For maximum effect, give 2 scoops morning and 2 scoops evening for 3 consecutive days. Then reduce for maintenance.
• Maintenance: Evaluate response after loading period. Reduce serving to 1-2 scoops morning and 1-2 scoops evening to find optimum maintenance level.
• For afternoon rides, add another feeding 2 hours prior for best results.
