In 1969 Peter Brock was given his big break with an offer to drive at Bathurst, Australias most prestigious race in a HT Holden Monaro GTS 350. Brock and co driver Des West, began the race weekend in 10th position on the starting grid with a a qualifying lap time of 2:55.4. After 130 laps the race was won by the newly formed Holden Dealer Team Colin Bond and Tony Roberts. Brock and West finished third in their Holden HT.

After the 1969 Bathurst race Brocks car was on-sold by Harry Firth to the Morris Family who continued to race it. Behind the wheel was Bob Morris who stated “it was a very competitive car, it even held a few records at the time.
