Ian Anderson is the frontman of Jethro Tull, a leading British progressive rock band, and a legend of the British rock scene. His 2005 CD and DVD "IAN ANDERSON PLAYS THE ORCHESTRAL JETHRO TULL" is now available on analog LP for the first time. From 2004 to 2006, Ian Anderson played with the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt Orchestra under the direction of John O'Hara, with Florian Opare (acoustic & electronic guitar), who would later join Jethro Tull With Florian Opare (acoustic and electronic guitar), David Goodier (bass and glockenspiel), and James Duncan (drums and percussion), the band performed a concert series called "IAN ANDERSON PLAYS THE ORCHESTRAL JETHRO TULL" in Europe and the U.S.A. The series was a great success. The concert series was held in Europe and the U.S.A. Ian Anderson has performed with orchestras several times since 2001, but "IAN ANDERSON PLAYS THE ORCHESTRAL JETHRO TULL" is the first time he has performed with an orchestra. Ian Anderson, who has performed with orchestras on several occasions since 2001, commented at the time about the musicians assembled for "IAN ANDERSON PLAYS THE ORCHESTRAL JETHRO TULL".The core of the band that will play with me at these concerts has been chosen for their skill in a variety of musical disciplines. They must not only cover the styles and nuances of my music and Jethro Tull's over the years, but also understand the orchestral settings we have used and how they work. The musicians and Ian Anderson will perform Jethro Tull's signature pieces such as "Living In The Past," "Aqualang," and "Locomotive Breath," as well as "Boure," inspired by J.S. Bach's "Boule in E Minor," in a classical arrangement with orchestra. It brought new surprises to Jethro Tull fans of yesteryear and classical music fans alike. Later in 2017, Ian Anderson released "JETHRO TULL - THE STRING QUARTETS," a "Jethro Tull meets classic" collaboration album with the Carducci String Quartet, orchestrated by John O'Hara. The analog LPs are now available, allowing the listener to feel the history of classical influences and love of the classics that runs through Ian Anderson.
