Latin name - Garcinia livingstonei
Also known as African Mangosteen, Imbe is a bright orange fruit with a tangy sweet-tart flavor. They stand out among Garcinias as one of the most drought tolerant and resilient trees, native to warm parts of Africa. Imbe trees can reach up to 15 or 20 feet in Florida, after a decade or more of growth. They’re typically bushy in growth habit and can be kept compact with some pruning. The fruit is abundant during the spring and summer months.
