One of the most iconic and influential albums of all time, Pink Floyd's "Madness" continues to develop new audiences around the world. They first performed an early version of the suite at London's Rainbow Theatre a few months before recording began, and it was subsequently refined through live performances.Madness, Pink Floyd's eighth studio album, was recorded at EMI Studios (now Abbey Road Studios) in London in 1972 and 1973, with the original release in the United States on March 1, 1973, and in the United Kingdom on March 16. The iconic cover, depicting a spectrum of prisms, was designed by Storm Torgerson of Hypnosis and drawn by graphic designer George Hardy. Madness has sold more than 50 million copies worldwide since its release. The new deluxe box set celebrating the 50th anniversary of its release includes a CD with the latest 2023 remastering of "Madness," an LP with a facing jacket, a 5.1 mix and remastered stereo version, plus the first Dolby Atmos mix in Pink Floyd history, a Blu-ray and DVD, and a "Madness" CD with the latest 2023 remastering of the album. The CD and LP will include a Blu-ray and DVD of "Madness: Live At Wembley, 1974" (The Dark Side Of The Moon - Live At Wembley, 1974).The artwork for "Madness: Live at Wembley 1974" will be based on the original album cover artwork created by George Hardy in 1973. Also included will be a 160-page hardcover book with rare and unpublished photos from the 1972-1975 UK and US tours, a 76-page music book of the original recordings, two 7-inch singles ("Money / Any Colour You Like" and "Us And Them / Time"), and the 1973 album cover of "Madness. Time"), and a replica of the EMI-produced brochure and invitation to the "Madness" listening party held at the London Planetarium in 1973.
