This exquisite vintage ring features a sparkling array of natural Marcasite gemstones in a Sterling Silver 'Bow' mounting. Multiple Marcasite gemstones are missing, hard to notice in person, but view the images for close-ups. Stamped 'sterling' and 'silver', this beautiful circa-1980s size 6.75 ring weighs approximately 6.56 grams and has been cleaned but not polished. The bow itself is approximately 30.5 mm x 16.4 mm over the 2.6 mm wide band.

Marcasite is an iron sulfide mineral, a polymorph of Pyrite, but it crystallizes in an orthorhombic system, giving it a distinctive, less-cubic appearance. Often found in low-temperature acidic environments, Marcasite forms in striking, radiating habits, sometimes resembling spiky cockscombs or intricate fan-like sprays.
