The new project of the Go Yamamoto Trio is a reunion session with engineer Yoshihiko Kannari, who revolutionized the jazz sound as the exclusive engineer for the legendary Japanese jazz label "Three Blind Mice" in the 1970s! The recording technique of miking instruments close to the limit to the source of the tone and being willing to take peaks is still alive and well. As a bonus track, the album also includes two representative tracks, "Midnight Sugar" and "Misty," for listening comparison. The mastering was handled by Sony Music Studio, which has reissued more than 70 TBM titles since 2012 and is well versed in the sound of the TBM reissue series. The sound that emerges on this disc may be a recreation of those days, or it may be the maturity of half a century. The liner notes include a recording set diagram handwritten by Mr. Kaminari, a well-known feature for TBM fans! The unique setting of the private studio is also noteworthy.
