This is the eighth release in the Karajan & Berliner Philharmoniker's SA-CD-SHM series, featuring the complete symphonies by Mendelssohn, known as one of the greatest recordings of the early 1970s. The gorgeous and colorful sound is still brilliant even half a century after the recording. The CD set will be a two-disc set, taking advantage of the large capacity of the SA-CD format, instead of the three-disc set normally available on CD. Produced in 2017 at Emil Berliner Studios in Germany from the original Deutsche Grammophon analog masters, using the latest DSD masters.
