I spent two years in 2015-2016 immersed in the blues, touring around record stores and learning a lot. I wanted to make a record that had something raw, rough, and live. Writing blues music may seem easy, but it's not. It's not hard to copy or cover blues, but it's very challenging to create original blues.The album features legendary New Orleans drummer David Shirley and saxophonist Colin Steadson, who is well-known for his work with Bon Iver and BBNG. The album was recorded with a single vintage microphone and a single vintage amp to create a rich and vivid sound package. The LP is also packaged in a luxurious 180G-weight vinyl with a 16-page booklet.
