354 feet high and just over a mile wide, the Victoria Falls is one of the world's largest and most spectacular waterfalls. Named after Queen Victoria, it was discovered by David Livingstone in 1855. The roar from Victoria Falls can be heard 25 miles away and the spray rises to a height of up to 1000 feet, often visible from 20 miles away. The indigenous people of the Kololo tribe call the falls Mosi-oa-Tunya - The Smoke That Thunders.
