I believe the landscape pictured here is the Lowcountry of Southern South Carolina and that the gestural, near-horizontal branch coming in from the right is of a very old Oak. While I've been really into serene British watercolor seascapes of late, in part for their calming effects, I find this wonderfully immersive and transportive in a different direction, and super satisfying in its lushness; one can almost hear the cicada singing away!

Unsigned and undated, though I know that it dates to the mid-20th century or so and came from a group of travel works portraying different scenes in the U.S. 11.75ʺ× 9.75ʺ and in excellent vintage condition.
