I really really love the matter of factness of this duck; no more than what it needs to be and seemingly perfectly suited to go for a float--and I find that flat expanse of chocolate brown paint weirdly but truly satisfying. It's the work of Emile Bluteau (1931-?), a well known Quebecois folk artist, who began carving in the late 70s, first birds and then"the human condition in all its moods and shapes" as described by Lyle Elder, a great documenter of Canadian folk and outsider art. More about Bluteau and additional images of his work here.

I am not certain the date on this--it seems Bluteau was still actively making and selling throughout the first decade of the 2000s. It measures 8" long x 2" wide x 2 3/4" tall. Good overall condition, with a hairline split in wood along the front left side of the body.  Signed on the underside.
