It's 1959, and these bedraggled 'rain mates' are pounding the pavement in Buchanan Street, just at the junction with Gordon Street. Today, the handsome building in the background is the TGI Friday eatery.

Younger readers might be surprised to note that, back then, you had to watch for cars and lorries splashing through puddles. The road didn't become pedestrianised until much later.
