Jim has been blessed with five children, yet he found the arrival of his second baby the hardest. With the first child a naïve optimism often persists in most fathers: “Maybe my life will not completely change.” But, of course, it does.

Second Child Syndrome embodies what a father experiences with the arrival of a second child. Whatever delusions a father of one has that he’s young, hip, or free are suddenly gone. A second child thrusts willing fathers into a selfless level of service filled with sacrifice. To those who humbly accept the paternal responsibility, we raise a glass to you. The same principles that inspired the Firstborn Edition of Fathertime have also guided the creation of this new release, Second Child Syndrome. This endeavor is still just Jim and Stu tasting barrels and putting together a smooth and delicious bourbon. This batch is just as precious as the first, and each bottle is personally signed by Jim, which was a pain in the ass but totally worth it - much like fatherhood.
