Norberto de Guzman Carating is an exponential presence in Philippine Non representational Art, a distinction he enjoys for the last four decades. He officially started his career as an exhibiting artist with his first solo exhibition of lamanlupa works at the Galerie Bleue in 1974. He obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College of Fine Arts of the University of the Philippines in 1971. A consistent winner in practically all the national art competitions, including the 13 Artists award in 1990 from the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Carating time and again has represented the country in many international art events in China, Cuba and the United States. He has extensibly exhibited his works coast to coast in the US and Canada, in Germany and Spain in Europe, as well as in Hong Kong and Singapore.

The book chronicles the various depots and detours in both the professional and personal life of Carating.
