A warm cream ground, classical brown medallion-work, and a pile dense enough to read closer to silk than to cotton. The Cream & Brown 1.5-million-point Persian is the gateway palette of the tradition — the rug that grounds a room without forcing it into one period.
The cream-and-brown palette is the most lived-in face of the Persian tradition. Drawn from undyed wool, walnut hulls, and the iron-tannin browns of the Anatolian and Iranian plateaus, it is the palette that pre-dates aniline dyes and survives unchanged in the antique Heriz and Mahal weavings designers still chase at auction. Our 1.5-million-point edition draws from that lineage, pairing the warm earth-toned vocabulary with the durable, washable construction of a contemporary Turkish weave — a rug that works as comfortably under a Chesterfield sofa as it does on a Sacramento family-room floor.
This is our highest-density Persian-inspired tier — about 25% denser than our standard 1200-reed line. On a cream-and-brown ground, the practical effect is visual as much as sensory: the dark medallion-work reads crisply against the pale field, and the deep pile carries the cushioned, slightly weighted feel usually associated with hand-knotted vintage pieces. The fibre is engineered to keep the warm palette reading as designed — neither dulling toward grey nor warming toward orange — even in rooms with strong afternoon light or wood-furniture reflection.

Cream and brown is the natural complement to wood, leather, and brass — a palette that reads classical, transitional, or English-country depending on what surrounds it. Pair with walnut floors and a chestnut Chesterfield for a traditional library read; with cognac leather, brass picture lights, and a tartan throw for an English-country sitting room; with white-oak floors and natural-linen upholstery for a softer transitional living room. High-contrast modernist black-and-white or saturated jewel-tones tend to fight the warm palette — keep accents earthy or metallic-warm.
Living rooms, dining rooms, libraries, family rooms, and master bedrooms in interiors that lean traditional or transitional. The warm-earth palette is particularly suited to homes with wood furniture, leather seating, or brass accents — and it is forgiving in high-traffic households where the rug needs to disguise normal wear.
The 1.5-million-point line is the upper end of our Persian-inspired curation — represented in Sacramento by a small group of palettes (cream-and-brown, light blue, soft cream, navy, and rose). If you'd like to compare them side by side or see the pile in person, our Carmichael showroom holds representative pieces.
