Due to the traditional nature in which these caps are shaped and hand molded we suggest to spot or sponge clean. We recommend not to steam because this can change this unique shape over time. In this process 98% of this cap is sewn. In high-quality caps like those made from Harris Tweed, select areas are carefully glued to stabilize the heavy wool and maintain a clean, lasting shape around the front and peak. This controlled use of adhesive ensures the lining stays smooth and the finish refined. When executed properly, it’s a mark of skilled craftsmanship and is very common.
