In an iconic 1940's silhouette, rendered in a stone and cream coloured pinstripe and set off by eye-catching caramel and cream coloured buttons, this original 1940's day dress is just the piece to add to your everyday wardrobe. 

The V shaped slit neckline, draws the eye to the elegant cross over cut of the bodice which fastens in place internally with two concealed press studs. The simple shoulder line, sets off the wide short length sleeves. The bodice, showcases a statement triangular shaped moc pocket, which is embellished with decorative buttons along the right hand side yoke. The fitted waistline, is accented by gathered smoking stitches along either side of the base of the bodice, which allow for the fabric to radiate in soft pleats. The elegant skirt line is accented by a cross over cut peplum, which sits along along the front of the dress, setting off the simple a Line panel cut of the skirt.

Armpit to Armpit: up to 38 inches

Shoulder to Hem: 43.5 inches. 

Waist: up to 28 inches

Shoulder to End of Sleeve: 4 inches

Closures: This dress fastens along the side seam with an 9.5 inch metal zip and internally along the bodice with two concealed press studs. 

Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition.Very gentle colour fading along the top of the shoulders and along the bottom of the skirt line. A light and gentle age mark along the front right hand side of the peplum, below the central part of the waistline. A small pin sized age mark is positioned beneath this. Colour fading along the drape of the skirt. A scattering of age marks along the right hand side seam of the skirt line and mid-length height. These minor blemishes are not overly apparent when the dress is being worn and only noticeable upon closer inspection. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
