Designed by Malibu legend Greg Liddle, the True Ames L-Flex Single Fin was created to complement the modified displacement hull surfboards he pioneered starting in 1968, using a convex bottom contour to generate trim, speed, and planing power in lower-energy waves. Built to match those hydrodynamic principles, the L-Flex features a thinner precision foil and finely tuned flex that delivers strong down-the-line projection, smooth transitions, and a lively, responsive feel through full rail carves and accelerating sections. Over more than 40 years of refinement, the L-Flex has proven versatile across a wide range of boards designed for speed and flow. Constructed from hand-laid Volan fiberglass with carefully oriented weave and flex that engages through the body rather than only the tip, this fin enhances drive, speed, and projection through turns.
