Heritage & inspiration

The Wiener Werkstätte (Vienna Workshop), active 1903–1932, was Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser's response to the Arts and Crafts movement — a parallel evolution to the Bauhaus, beginning a generation earlier and ending the same year. Where Bauhaus pushed toward stripped industrial form, the Werkstätte retained structured ornament: geometric pattern, but rich; modernist proportions, but with worked detail. The workshop produced textiles that absorbed Persian-medallion vocabulary into a Viennese graphic sensibility.

On Steel Gray this register reads precisely between the cohort's two more familiar Steel Gray poles. More ornate than the strict Bauhaus anchor; more graphic and modern than the cohort's classical Persian siblings. The room asked for between-poles modernism; this delivers it.

Spot-clean with mild detergent; low-suction vacuum; professional clean every 18–24 months. Not a machine-washable rug.
